The Pendleton Field Guide to Campfire Cooking
Chronicle Books was looking for someone who could ghost write in a brand voice and also create recipes designed to be prepared over a campfire. Luckily, I am a pro at all of these things!
I brought on a writing pardner, Lindsey Bro, and we spent six months formulating recipes, writing and rewriting, expanding on the established Pendleton brand voice. We developed tips and tricks like "how to build campfires of different sizes and temperatures" and "how to measure a tablespoon in the palm of your hand." We became obsessive about cast iron care (no soap, EVER) and extremely opinionated about grammar subjectivity (our copy editor hated us!) but mostly, we got to publish some of our favorite camping meals as recipes that anyone can learn to make.
The book is available for preorder and will be released in April 2022!
